The Hideout
About This Spot
Stepping into The Hideout, nestled quietly within Churchside Arcade on Little Church Street, you immediately sense a gentle shift in pace. It’s a snug retreat where calm and comfort mingle effortlessly, perfect for those moments when you want to slow down and truly savor the surroundings. The soft hum of conversation blends with the carefully curated playlists, creating a relaxed backdrop that invites lingering over a drink or a shared catch-up.
This intimate spot wears its dual identity with ease—by day, a welcoming coffee shop, and by night, a cozy cocktail bar where warm lighting and friendly faces welcome you like an old friend. Here, the ritual of preparing a drink is an artful act, whether it’s the rich warmth of a Baileys hot chocolate or the playful sparkle of an expertly crafted Espresso Martini. The pace encourages you to settle in, perhaps with a pot of tea and a slice of something thoughtfully homemade, allowing time to appreciate the quiet pleasure of well-made food and drink.
The Hideout’s charm lies deeply in its atmosphere—a place that feels as much like a personal refuge as a neighborhood gathering spot. It's exactly where you find yourself sharing stories over a decadent dessert or savoring a perfectly balanced cocktail as the evening unfolds gently around you. It’s the warmth in the service and the attention to detail—from accommodating special requests to creating memorable moments—that lingers long after you’ve left.
The space also quietly shines as a setting for special occasions, where familiarity and friendliness make every celebration feel heartfelt and personal. Whether it’s a lazy afternoon enjoy taking away a thoughtfully prepared tea or a leisurely evening delighting in creative cocktails, The Hideout offers a subtle kind of magic that draws you back, time and again.

We hosted a baby shower at The Hideout, and we couldn’t have been more thrilled with our choice to have Sue cater the afternoon tea. The venue offers a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, and the food was absolutely delicious. Our guests loved everything, and Sue’s warmth and attention to detail made sure everyone was well taken care of. We highly recommend her!

A fantastic happy hour or two of cocktails at The Hideout in Churchside Arcade. Fantastic staff and a great atmosphere. We highly recommend you give them a visit soon and when you do, try a Purple Rain!

What a lovely way to finish our evening. Sue and Amber are absolutely lovely. The cocktails were fantastic. Set in a beautiful setting, loved the ambiance, felt like we were on holiday. If you’re looking for a nice quiet cocktail or two, this is the place!

Booked for afternoon tea to celebrate my birthday with some close friends so we thought we would try the Hideout....... so happy we did. The afternoon tea was delicious and incredibly generous portion wise. The magic happened when we came back after 6 for a cocktail to finish off the day. The cocktails were incredible as were Suzanne and Amber (I hope I'm right with your name....... after you had finished with us I couldn't remember my own) I do hope lots and lots of people see this and come around to check out your delicious espresso martinis. Thanks again for a fab afternoon/evening/hangover....... can't wait to see you ladies again

Had festive afternoon tea here - food was delicious and nothing was too much trouble. Prosecco with raspberries was a nice addition too. Definitely recommend and will return soon
